Why We Built This Site
Louisiana gives the public broad access to many court and public records, but Plaquemines Parish has a local structure that can be confusing at first glance. The Clerk of Court is a unified parish clerk, not a split county clerk and district clerk. The 25th Judicial District Court is a single-parish district with Division A and Division B. The Sheriff's Office keeps separate arrest, warrant, incident, traffic citation, crash, and jail records. Federal matters route through the Eastern District of Louisiana instead of the parish courthouse.
The result is a records landscape shaped by geography, court structure, and record type. The courthouse is in Pointe-a-la-Hache, the Clerk annex and several justice offices are in Belle Chasse, and older records reach back to the 1790s. This site brings those official record paths, office roles, fee concepts, and access limits into one Plaquemines Parish reference.
